Our librarian is Sibyl Jorgensen. Leila Nannenga is the assistant librarian. We are open every afternoon from 2 to 6 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9 to 11:30 a.m. We have an After School Program on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:40 to 5:30 p.m. in the library basement. Rose and Heather Markwardt supervise this program for the library and do a great job! We have a daily attendance of 10 to 12 children. During the summer break, we have a Summer Reading Program for kids. Carrie Anderson has been in charge of this program for us. The program is from 5 to 6 weeks, meeting once a week. We have a Fitness Center in the south half of the basement with several state of the art pieces of equipment for the public to use-----FREE. The Thornton Public Library has a very active, helpful board. Dora Lee Terry is the board president. Barb Hopkey serves as vice president, with Julie Bell as secretary. Pam Meyer and Nancy Payton complete the library board. Stop in and see us!
